Photo & Quote #10 Imagine

Our truest life is when we are in dreams awake.
~Henry David Thoreau

World, meet Bear. Porter’s new bestie.

***
Porter had the foresight to ask that Bear wear a seat belt.

Practicing sitting on the “potty”.

There is a breakfast place in town called Goldy’s. I really like it, and so does the rest of Boise. Porter and I took a chance to have breakfast there this morning because the only time you can walk right in and sit down is in the middle of the week, early in the morning. He’s getting so proficient at using utensils and his manners are good too.

Photo & Quote #8 Toddler

Having a two-year-old is like having a blender that you don’t have the top for.
~Jerry Seinfeld

Today I wished I was this cat.

Watching cartoons
The exact quote, while gazing lovingly at the ketchup and nodding his head with a sigh,
“Mmm, I love this stuff.”

For the first time, Porter pedaled for the majority of the ride.
After weeks of only going around the neighborhood because Porter wouldn’t stay on the bike,
we finally made it all the way to the coffee shop. It was glorious!

Photo & Quote #7 Friendship

A friend should be one in whose understanding and virtue we can equally confide,
and whose opinion we can value at once for its justness and sincerity.
~Robert Hall

Had coffee with my friend and midwife Holly today. It was both invigorating and soothing
to talk with someone who feels the same way about birth as I do. And to know that our husbands
are happy to spend the afternoon with our children so we could catch up.
So blessed are we.

While I was out Luke and Porter realized that with all of the planes, trains and automobiles we posses, somehow we have no boats. Thankfully they are creative and constructed this awesome ship.

Photo & Quote #6 Eat Real Food

You, as a food buyer, have the distinct privilege of
proactively participating in shaping the world your children will inherit.

Farm fresh, pastured, local, non-GMO eggs and goat cheese from Green Goat Dairy.
We are spoiled. I love this farm!!

Walking the walk. Breakfast this week included Dutch Baby pancakes made with Green Goat eggs, organic Einkorn flour, and organic sugar. Topped with locally sourced and home canned white peaches form Williamson Orchard.
There are many recipes, but I’ve found that Martha Stewart’s is a good thing.

We’re really into these homemade graham crackers right now. So simple, and very real. Thank you Food Renegade.

Today Porter helped me make a new batch and was as patient as an almost 2 year old can be.
Seriously, they’re so good and ridiculously easy to make.

We had a bit of a photo session today. Hilarity ensued.

He decided this was not actually a diaper holder, but his very own train car. Choo choo!

Tonight Luke became a grandfather. Porter named his baby girl, Porter.
Only slightly more creative than her original name, Big Baby.
Tender.

Photo & Quote #5 Popcorn

Of course life is bizarre, the more bizarre it gets, the more interesting it is.
The only way to approach it is to make yourself some popcorn and enjoy the show.
~David Gerrold

Actual popcorn used in a shipment of natural lotion that I received today.

Photo & Quote #4 Seeds

Earth teach me to forget myself as melted snow forgets its life.
Earth teach me resignation as the leaves which die in the fall.
Earth teach me courage as the tree which stands all alone.
Earth teach me regeneration as the seed which rises in the spring.
~William Alexander

Porter tried pomegranate seeds for the first time today. We shared them during our tea party. They were the sweetest juiciest kernels I’ve ever had and he loved them.

Photo & Quote #3 Fish

Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree,
it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.
~Albert Einstein

Today we visited the Idaho Aquarium. It was lovely.

This guy was doing some serious laps around the tank.

You know who this is right?
